I am truly grateful for the knowledge of Christian Science. I have found it a very present help in times of trouble and anxiety, and perhaps the following testimony may be of help to someone who feels he has not enough knowledge of Science to gain help thereby.

A few years ago I discovered a small swelling in my breast. Because my husband requested it, I visited a doctor. He told me I must go into hospital to have the growth removed, as it appeared to be the commencement of a cancer, but he said I must first see a specialist to confirm this diagnosis. I cannot describe how distracted I was with fear, for I had lost a sister through this disease.

However, I immediately got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner who had helped me many times before, and again she was ready to pour oil on the troubled waters and lovingly comforted me with the assurance that my only real being is God's spiritual, perfect child and therefore had not been, and never could be, touched with anything that is unlike my creator. She asked me to do some quiet reading, which I did. For one whole day I read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, hardly touching any food, not needing any; and after two or three days the fear left me. The wonder of it I shall never forget.
