ACCEPT ONLY "THE HIGHEST RIGHT"
Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p.368), "The greatest wrong is but a supposititious opposite of the highest right." Difficult as it may seem humanly to face a so-called "greatest wrong" with the assurance that the contrary is true, it is indeed profitable to consider the logic, the full implication, and the impelling challenge of this statement by the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
Basing her conclusions on Biblical authority and revelation, Mrs. Eddy throughout her writings makes it clear that God, divine Principle, the only cause or creator, is not the creator of both good and evil, but only of good; and that because He is the creator of everything, everything must be good. Man, His expression, is thus wholly good, not cognizant of or susceptible to anything less than perfection. Evil in any form or degree, she explains, because it is not of God is unreal and powerless, a false, inverted concept of the real.
This simple but vital thesis is the foundation stone of Christian Science healing, and the point from which one starts in studying the lesson, or lessons, in the above-quoted statement by our Leader.
