About twenty years ago, when Christian Science was first presented to me, I was a trained nurse. At that time I had no faith in medicine and thought Christian Science was something else to try for gaining health. Immediately I was told it was not something to try, but a life to live, as Jesus taught and as Mary Baker Eddy revealed in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." I was glad to accept this Science because I was in need of healing, and I promised that if God would solve our problems, I would gladly devote my life to it.

My first instantaneous healing was of pernicious anemia. This came about when I understood that man is the image and likeness of God and can have nothing but good. Since this healing I have lived an active life without the constant sense of fatigue which I had before.

Another healing, of internal goiter, occurred when I was in great fear of passing on. I asked for treatment from a Christian Science practitioner and pondered the hymns in our Christian Science Hymnal for about three hours. I claimed the healing messages in our hymns, until I realized I was healed. Hymn No. 412 always has been especially helpful to me. This healing was brought about through increasing awareness of the perfection of man.
