I want to express my gratitude for Christian Science and add my testimony to the many others attesting to the fact that Christian Science heals, for I have received so much comfort and joy from reading the testimonies in the periodicals that I hope mine will also help someone.

I was born with a cleft palate. My parents became interested in Christian Science, and I had treatment for quite a while. At the age of ten I was enrolled in the Sunday School. There the sense of inferiority and imperfection which I had accepted in my daily school and play contacts was slowly removed, and I was taught to claim earnestly and steadfastly and to accept my birthright as a child of God.

The statement in Isaiah (55:10, 11), "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it," has always had a very special meaning for me. In applying it for myself, I have attempted always to speak the truth, to speak lovingly, kindly, and joyously, for then I knew that I was expressing God, good; and therefore I could not fail to be understood, for the Word of God does not return void!
