The Angel at Golgotha

PEARL STRACHAN HURD

Help us to see, Lord, help us,
As the women saw at the cross,
That the Christ is risen;
There is no loss.

Keep us from condemning
To crucifixion and the tomb
Those for whom the world
Makes little room.

Two women saw the angel.
Oh, radiant, holy thought!
And they remembered
What Jesus taught.

The angel cried, "He is risen,
He is risen as he said.
Go, tell the disciples
He is risen from the dead."

The angel said the Master
Had gone to Galilee.
He showed the tomb empty,
Man ... free!
