I am very eager to express gratitude...

I am very eager to express gratitude for Christian Science. Since infancy I have known no other remedy for error of any sort. I am constantly thankful that my parents accepted this religion when I was a baby and that I have been taught to turn to God for all things. The first hymn I learned, as a small child, was Mary Baker Eddy's "Feed My Sheep" (Poems, p. 14), and the beautiful line. "I will listen for Thy voice," from that hymn has been a constant help to me.

Some time ago I visited a dentist for the purpose of having a tooth filled. Upon examination and considerable probing which dislodged bits of the tooth, the dentist advised me that an immediate extraction was necessary. I was surprised and was reluctant to lose a very useful tooth. I had read many fine testimonies in our periodicals in which such verdicts were not accepted in the light of Christian Science, but instead the truth was declared and healing resulted.

Before allowing the extraction I went home, spent considerable time praying for guidance, and was impelled to seek the advice of another dentist. He said that a filling might permit several more years of service, and that if I wanted to try one he would do the work. The tooth was filled, but then the trouble began.
