Love's Power

Love gave to blind and deaf their sight and hearing:At midnight hour it set the prisoners free:Restored the cripple at the pool Bethesda;Forgave the dying thief upon the tree.

Love scatters oases in desert places:Weaves purest joy from sorrow's tangled thread:Casts shining rays across earth's darkest shadows;And feeds the multitude with living bread.
