I wish to express my gratitude for my first healing in Christian Science. From childhood I suffered from an annoying skin eruption accompanied by severe itching. This complaint was at its worst during the summer. During the school term the condition was most distressing, for it covered my whole body. My parents tried all kinds of treatments by specialists and homeopaths here and abroad. Very often the result was injurious. If sometimes there seemed to be an improvement, it was only temporary, for the ailment soon took a turn for the worse. When I was twelve years of age my parents' attention was called to Christian Science. We grasped at it as our last hope.

We procured the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and began to study the Lesson-Sermons from the Christian Science Quarterly. But my thoughts were too material. We asked a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given. She was able to explain the truth to me in a simple way: God creates man in His image and likeness. "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." This simple explanation brought me daily nearer and nearer to God. In a short time I was completely healed. Later on when fear again entered my thought, it was banished, together with its manifestation, with the help of a practitioner. This experience has taught me that "with God all things are possible" (Matt. 20:26). During the years following. I have had one occasion after another to thank our Father-Mother God for His help.

I should like to tell of another proof that divine Love heals quickly, which I had later on. I suffered an accident while skiing. Friends who did not know anything about Christian Science called a doctor. After he had examined me, he prescribed a cast and said that I could not count on walking for three months. Again, with the help of a practitioner, I rejected the suggestions of material sense. The practitioner explained to me that God does not know any time limits; that He heals now. On page 427 in Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes, "Man is the same after as before a bone is broken or the body guillotined;" and on page 515."All that God imparts moves in accord with Him, reflecting goodness and power." Pain, discoloration, and swelling diminished from hour to hour. As we read (ibid., p. 476), "Error, urged to its final limits, is self-destroyed." The healing result was wonderful. People thought it a miracle, but I knew it was no miracle to God.
