In I John 3:2 these inspiring words are found, "Beloved, now are we the sons of God." Until Mrs. Eddy's time it was generally thought that man was material, and subject to material limitations, such as birth, death, and lack. But today we understand the nowness not only of God but also of man, who has always existed as God's idea. In John 8:58 the words, "Before Abraham was, I am," point to the nowness of the Christ. In eternity there is no past, no future, just one eternal now.

The spiritual knowing that now I am in reality God's child has proved a powerful healing agent for me. Stomach trouble of over twenty years' standing yielded completely and instantaneously to the realization of this truth. Other healings, such as freedom from the tobacco habit, a quick healing of tuberculosis, and a gradual healing of a nervous breakdown of fifteen years' standing, are directly traceable to the understanding of the same and kindred healing thoughts. At times I have had the help of practitioners.

It was the effectiveness of the truths of Christian Science in releasing my wife from high blood pressure and kidney trouble that caused me to see the light of divine Science. I frequently make use of Mrs. Eddy's words in Science and Health (p. 591): "Man. The compound idea of infinite Spirit; the spiritual image and likeness of God; the full representation of Mind." There is nothing material or limited in this description of man. Man represents Mind, and Mind is complete.
