Humbleness of Mind
May
I be humble, Lord!
Not only when I'm comforted
With wine and oil poured in,
But humble when I am rebuked
And made to see my sin.
Oh, may I then be teachable,
And willing, Lord, to learn
That through my meekness Thou wilt shine
With light all can discern.
If lonely and uncomforted,
It must be I have pride;
For meekness makes my God a Friend
Who never leaves my side.
It was through humbleness of mind
That Naaman was healed;
And if I too am teachable
My health shall be revealed.
May I be humble, Lord!
