For the abundant blessings that have come into my experience through the study and application of Christian Science I am grateful to God.

While a student at high school I became dissatisfied with the religion in which my parents had raised me, because it failed to give me the practical answers to my problems or any semblance of joy. For a while I turned my back on all religion, but this did not bring me happiness, so I started searching for something that would inspire and guide me to real living. This led me to study several philosophies, both Occidental and Oriental, and numerous ologies and isms, as well as to investigate several religions. After a number of years I became more confused and discouraged than ever. Then I heard of a healing in Christian Science and decided to look into this Science. On the invitation of a friend I attended a lecture, and at its conclusion I knew that this was what I had really been searching for. Immediately I began studying Christian Science and attending church and lectures.

The way was both joyous and rugged the first few years, as Truth was stirring my thinking, facing me to change from a material foundation to the spiritual. Through these years I never doubted once that Christian Science was the only panacea for the many problems confronting me. During that time I became a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church.
