To me, one of the greatest blessings derived from faithfulness to the teachings of the Bible and Christian Science is the understanding of spiritual law which we gain, for this is always sufficient to meet and master any adverse condition.

"Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things" (Matt. 25:21). When I received the news of my elder son's sudden passing on, as the result of an accident, a sense of grief and separation seemed to engulf my being, and I literally cried to God for help and comfort. The words quoted above were my answer. Other angel messages followed, and with them came a great spiritual peace, healing all thoughts of sorrow and loss. This occurred some ten years ago.

Early in the recent war my younger son enlisted in the Army Air Forces, and in due time became a pilot on a bomber. All during his training period I was able to maintain the same spiritual peace and calm. Later, when he was sent into the Pacific combat area, I still knew all would be well. In spite of many longe-range missions over water, he and his whole crew came through the experiences unharmed although they had encountered the usual enemy opposition.
