For more than forty years the truth taught by Mary Baker Eddy has been my only physician. Recently as I took my seat in church I looked up and read this motto on the wall: "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494). Immediately I began to take stock of all the good that has come to me through Christian Science, and m' thoughts went back to one of my first healings, that of tonsillitis.

Before taking up the study of Science I had tonsillitis every winter, sometimes two or three times. On one occasion it was acute, and after trying unsuccessfully for several hours to help myself I called a practitioner. She came to see me about five o'clock in the afternoon, and after talking with me a few minutes while sitting at my bedside, gave me a treatment. While she was working I went to sleep. She called me the next morning and said that she stayed with me about thirty minutes, and that when she left I was sleeping so peacefully she did not wish to disturb me. When dinner was served at half past six I was up, free from fever, and so much improved that I ate a hearty meal.

That was more than forty years ago, and I have never experienced another such attack. I am indeed grateful to God for this quick healing and am filled with unspeakable gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for giving us this truth, which does heal instantly when it is properly applied.
