I should like to submit a testimony of a healing which took place some time ago and has been permanent.

While I was employed away from home a physical condition developed for which, under state laws, a medical examination is required. Some time later a laboratory report revealed all the symptoms of cancer in a malignant form. At first fear nearly overcame me, but Christian Science had helped me in many instances, so I turned to it in this extremity. Treatment was given by a practitioner and I was requested to study the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I read the following words on page 377 over and over: "Remove the leading error or governing fear of this lower so-called mind, and you remove the cause of all disease as well as the morbid or excited action of any organ. You also remove in this way what are termed organic diseases as readily as functional difficulties." This stilled all fear. In a short time I returned to my work free from all symptoms of what medical theory called an incurable disease. On page 378 of the textbook we read: "Disease is less than mind, and Mind can control it. Without the so-called human mind, there can be no inflammatory nor torpid action of the system." This helped when mortal mind said X-ray treatments were my only salvation. I refused these suggestions, and the healing followed.

God has indeed been good to us. All childhood diseases were overcome; a case of blood poisoning was healed when fear of the loss of a limb was overcome; and a home was provided when, because of wartime shortages, it seemed impossible to find one. In the last instance the lesson was learned that Spirit instead of matter is true substance.
