Servants of the Most High

There lived three men long years ago,
Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-nego.
They worshiped God and loved His name,
And so were cast into the flame.

Through all the smoke and fire and heat
They walked in perfect peace, complete,
Through dwelling in the secret place.

Love loosed their hands. Love loosed their feet;
Their hats, their coats, all symbols sweet,
Untouched by smell of fire or heat.
Were saved through Love's sweet grace.

Those watching were forthwith alarmed
To see four men walk all unharmed,
The fourth just like the Son of God.
