Healing by Reflecting
"To know there is but one God, one Cause, one effect, one Mind, heals instantly. Have but one God, and your reflection of Him does the healing." This inspiring statement by Mary Baker Eddy from the Sentinel of April 4, 1936, shows the healing benefit of realizing the allness of God and the perfection of man, and living in conformity to this realization.
As students of Christian Science we demonstrate the omnipotence of God, His omniscience and omnipresence, in healing. This healing may be accomplished by argument or by instant realization of the truth of being. Healing by argument is an understanding utilization of spiritual truths to refute and dissipate the befogging beliefs of mortal mind. Instantaneous healing is the result of Christly living, the constant awareness of God's allness, of absolute present perfection.
The immaculate life of the Master, Christ Jesus, and his healing ministry illustrated for his followers of all time this divinely ordained method of healing. He who healed the man blind from birth discerned the indestructible senses of Soul. He who commanded the impotent to rise and walk, acknowledged the irrepressible activity of Mind. He who before raising the dead declared (John 11:41), "Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me," knew God as the universal loving Parent. All phases of human belief were dissipated by him whose life ever reflected the spiritual verities of being.
