Divine Reality Timeless

In these days, when wartime memories are still vivid and prospects for the future dark, it is refreshing to ponder what the understanding of God's presence and power has enabled spiritually-minded men to experience, in spite of these conditions. Loving God with all their heart, all their soul, and all their strength, they have proved under varying circumstances that man has dominion. No less in the lives of present-day disciples of the master Christian than in those of Jesus, the prophets, and the apostles, is this truth found to be demonstrable when practiced in line with the enlightening teachings of Christian Science.

God is infinite, eternal, and perfect, and therefore He is without any limit of place, time, or ability. "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. ... Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them" (Gen. 1:31; 2:1). Man made in God's image and likeness is conscious of the abundance of everywhere present good. He rejoices in this verity. He who is learning the Godlike nature of man does not fear the results of an evil past, nor doubt that the future will be good, because he is aware that his God-given consciousness is now and forever inseparable from the all-inclusive divine presence.

That such an understanding has practical results in daily life was proved to a Christian Science student who had to deal with the problems of lack and unemployment. He had previously applied Christian Science successfully in finding employment under difficult circumstances. Shortly after he had taken up the study of this Science, he had been helped to do what was necessary in order to make a new start and to earn a living for his family. But now, after some successful years during which he had grown in spiritual understanding, for the second time a similar situation presented itself.
