"Thou hast turned for me my...

"Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; to the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever." (Ps. 30:11, 12.)

When all material aids and methods failed, Christian Science, the Comforter, came to my rescue. I was laid low with a severe nervous condition of months' duration, caused by a major operation. Intermittent spells of sleeplessness, great fatigue, depression, anxiety, anger, and futility possessed me, and I was miserable.

The first visit of a Christian Science practitioner is unforgettable. He talked most earnestly and quietly about God, who is Love and only blesses, never condemning or punishing, but caring for each of His children in a far more positive and tender way than I had ever thought of. The practitioner told me that I could know about this God of love for myself by studying the Bible and the Christian Science textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Much consecrated work was done for me until I was able to study for myself. In a few weeks I was strong enough to go to a distant city to visit relatives.
