Church and Home

In a successful and happy, well-ordered and harmonious home each member of the family must do his part. Then all will share the happiness and well-being of the home circle. But if one should neglect to do his duty, all may suffer inconvenience. So it is in branch church activities. All members are needed, and each one needs the support of all.

To each individual church member, his church should be as dear to him as his home. As Christian Scientists we recognize one universal Father-Mother, one common Parent, divine Love. When we attend our church services, lectures, board and committee meetings, or serve in various activities, it is helpful to recognize that we are in reality one family, joyously co-operating in the fulfillment of God's will, working for the common good, with one purpose: to reflect God's goodness.

As we love our church as we do our home we shall find many opportunities for service. All church members should know that man reflects the power, the ability, and the love of the perfect Father-Mother God. When we see ourselves and others as ideas of the one loving Parent, hence brothers and sisters in Christ, each will bless the other in the activity of the unfoldment of good.
