We read in "Science and Health...
We read in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 227): "Christian Science raises the standard of liberty and cries: 'Follow me! Escape from the bondage of sickness, sin, and death!'"
It is with a feeling of deep gratitude that I relate the healing of a severe malady, considered incurable by the greatest surgeons and doctors of Paris.
In 1934-1935 I underwent four surgical operations. When the last two took place I was suffering from acute purulent pyelonephritis with serious complications and general septicemia, which had affected other organs. One kidney was at last removed, but my health did not return. Between 1935 and 1937, sulphur cure, washing of the kidney, serums, autovaccines, electricity, homeopathy, massages, rigid diet, and so forth, were tried. I could not sleep and suffered greatly.
Life seemed to become more and more of a burden to me, and I prayed God to put an end to my days. In December. 1940, my condition grew still worse. The greatest specialist on kidney diseases in Paris, after X rays, analyses, and the usual observations, stated that the second kidney was in such a state that an operation, which he had recommended, was not possible. I spent four and a half months more in the hospital.
In May, 1941, I resumed my work at the office with more difficulty than in previous years, It was at this time that a fellow worker spoke to me of Christian Science, which had healed her of tuberculosis. I therefore went to see her practitioner and asked for help. Through the treatments which she gave me with so much love, patience, and kindness, my condition, improved as the months went by. I went through the winter working normally without interruption. I am now in perfect health, active at the office as well as at home.
All the ways of God are perfect and I am grateful for the one He showed me, since it brought me to Christian Science, the Comforter promised by our Master.
Truly a moral and physical restoration has taken place in me. My debt of gratitude to God is unbounded, for I cried unto Him and He healed me. He has lifted my thought above mortal ways. He has restored my life so that I have not descended into the tomb. "My soul doth magnify the Lord" (Luke 1:46), and I will not forget all His benefits, for He has forgiven all my iniquities and has healed all my diseases.
For this marvelous healing I give thanks also to Christ Jesus, and to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I shall always be grateful to the practitioner who helped me.— (Madame) Zinaïda Wladislavléva, Paris, France.
