Mrs. Eddy has made many provisions...

Mrs. Eddy has made many provisions which enable the students of her teachings to participate in the furtherance of the Christian Science movement in the world today and bring about blessing and healing for all mankind, and I am extremely grateful for the privilege of coming closer to God through these right activities. I am grateful for having attended a Christian Science Sunday School for many years, for having been instrumental in organizing a Christian Science college organization, for church membership in both The Mother Church and a branch church, for class instruction, and for the privilege of serving at the Christian Science Benevolent Association Sanatorium at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Each of these experiences has brought to me many blessings and growth in grace.

When I was Reader for the Christian Science organization at our college, I received a healing of goiter. I was quite sensitive about the condition and had treatments in Christian Science from time to time with no apparent results. One day I realized that the goiter was no longer there, and the same day my mother told me that she too had realized it was no longer apparent. This healing I attribute to my consecrated work in the preparation and reading of lessons for my classmates at our weekly organization meetings.

After I left college, at each place where I applied for a position I was told that my services could not be used because I lacked specialized training and experience. I was engaged to be married to a young man for whom I had no special affection, a situation which added to my distress at not being able to find a desirable position.
