Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

Springfield, Ohio (First Church).

Dedicatory services were conducted on Sunday morning and afternoon, June 24, 1945, by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Springfield, in the church edifice, at 1616 East High Street. During the services, the First Reader presented a brief history of the church.

Christian Science was first introduced to Springfield in 1890. In 1907, the group of Christian Scientists was recognized as a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ. Scientist. in Boston, Massachusetts. In the beginning, services were held in a private home.
