We are grateful for protection...

We are grateful for protection from harm during the war, for over forty years of fruitful work in Christian Science, and for good health after years of sickness and loss before we found Science.

During the flying bomb blitz our home was hit. Although we were in it at the time, we felt no fear, for we knew we were in God's care. When the wardens came we walked out with them absolutely untouched. This occurred between two and three o'clock in the morning. When daylight came we found the house was uninhabitable. We went to the home of a very dear friend, who welcomed us warmly, and for a few days the rest and peace were beautiful.

We had to prove, however, that in reality man is never homeless; that nothing could take from us our peace and happiness and our confidence in God's power over error, or make unreality real. We began to realize that we had not lost home, for our home was, actually, in God, the all-loving, all-knowing Mind. In that we rested. In two months we found a little house, quiet and pretty, where we again enjoyed all the spiritual freedom of home.
