"I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever," said Jesus (John 14:16). I have seen many proofs that Christian Science is this Comforter. I should like to bear witness to a few, to me, outstanding examples of the power of Truth.

When our son was about nine years old, while playing on the sidewalk he was struck by a bicycle ridden by another boy. The impact of the blow threw him high in the air, and he landed on his head on the pavement. When carried into the house, he was in a semiconscious state, and his body jerked convulsively. There was much fear expressed by neighbors who were not students of Science, for the little daughter of one of them had passed on recently from a similar blow on the head.

A Christian Science practitioner was called, and she came to the house immediately, remaining about three hours. She requested the child's father and me to retire to another room for quiet study, and told us to have only loving thoughts for the one who had committed the misdeed; to see his true selfhood, as well as that of our son, as a child of God, Love. In about three hours the boy awakened, completely healed. I am grateful to report that the other boy came to our door at approximately the same time, expressing contrition.
