It is with a heart full of gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her great gift of Christian Science to mankind that I give this testimony. Although I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing, when it was first introduced to me I knew that it was the truth that makes men free. By faith I had always known that all things are possible to God.

Christian Science was first presented to me by a dear friend, at a time when I was worried and unhappy. I had never heard of it up to that time. Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 227), "The illusion of material sense, not divine law, has bound you entangled your free limbs, crippled your capacities, enfeebled your body, and defaced the tablet of your being." This truth, indeed, "brought me up ... out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock," as we read in Psalms.

At one time I was called on to make a trip of several hundred miles, and I had only one dollar. I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help, and in a few days my needs were supplied by ways that seemed impossible to me.
