Eternal Life
Is
life confined to threescore years and ten?
And is existence just the vale of tears
Now meted out and limited by men
Who dwell in flesh, beset by doubts and fears?
Our Master overcame this false belief
And quelled the fears and tempests which seemed rife.
Then mourners learned there is no cause for grief,
Because to know God is eternal Life.
He healed the sick, destroying death and sin.
And taught mankind the brotherhood of man.
Declaring that God's kingdom is within,
That Life is not confined to one brief span.
Our Master taught the truth which makes men free.
Life "hid with Christ in God" eternally.
