I am humbly grateful for Christian Science, and I give thanks to God every day for the spiritual understanding I am gaining.

When my son was only six months old he developed asthma. My courage was not strong enough to place him entirely in the hands of God so we struggled along until he was about eight. At that time, through my brother. I became acquainted with a practitioner who seemed to me a true disciple of God.

My son was in the clutches of another serious attack and was in desperate need of help. I told him that he was to go without me to the practitioner of whom I have spoken, and not to bring that condition back. He hesitated, fearful of becoming lost on the way but I assured him that he would not be. Several hours passed before his return, but I did not become fearful because my stand was made, and I really felt at last that God had heard my prayer.
