I thank God that I have had...
I thank God that I have had the opportunity to study Christian Science. From the time I was seven years old, my parents studied this wonderful truth. As a result, I learned something of it and how to progress in my understanding.
In my childhood I had many proofs of God's loving care. Influenza, chicken pox, boils, and other errors were quickly overcome and protection was demonstrated. Science helped me to meet the demands made by my studies in high school and college. Later, when I taught school, it enabled me to demonstrate harmony and intelligence in the classroom. Science has been valuable also in helping me to maintain peace, love, and good will in my home.
Not long ago I had a wonderful proof of the truth of Mrs. Eddy's teaching. I burned my arms while cooking with hot grease. The instant grease touched my arms I declared that there was no sensation in matter, and knew it. I did not have one moment of pain, although to mortal sense there seemed to be evidence of burns.
