Words are inadequate to express...
Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for the wonderful healings and blessings that I have experienced in Christian Science for more than forty years. All my early years I attended an orthodox church of which I became a member. But my sense of God was very personal and unsatisfying, and it did not work out my problems. This concept of God had to give place to the truth that He is divine Principle and that man is the expression of Principle, just as numbers are the expression of the principle of mathematics.
It was hard for me to turn to Christian Science after all the various things I had tried for many years, including operations, change of climate, rigid diets, and so forth. But I had grown steadily worse under these treatments. The physicians had decided that the heart trouble and asthma were incurable, and these difficulties, together with chronic indigestion, a serious bowel trouble, and extreme nervousness and depression, made my condition appear hopeless. One morning I arose after a very troubled night and decided to go to a practitioner. When I had my first treatment it seemed as if I should never get my breath again. I went home completely discouraged, but I found the next day that I had been healed of the bowel trouble. I was so surprised at this healing I realized I must know more about Christian Science.
A few days later I told the practitioner I could eat very little without great distress, and I was on a very strict diet. She told me that I could eat anything I wanted. I thought she could not realize the condition I was in but did as she told me, and I have not had indigestion since then.
