There's Always an Answer

Who is there that does not daily, almost hourly, ask himself some question of importance—of importance to himself, at least. Sometimes the question is easily and quickly answered. Again, it may require deep, conscientious prayer. If one is a student of Christian Science, the natural thing to do is to see what Mary Baker Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," regarding whatever question is troubling him for she assures us (Pref., p vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."

Suppose the question is one of disease. We may have become quite convinced that the case is very serious, in fact, quite hopeless. Did God tell us that? The answer is self-evident that He did not. Then who did tell us? Mortal mind told us. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 176): "One disease is no more real than another. All disease is the result of education, and disease can carry its ill-effects no farther than mortal mind maps out the way:" and she concludes the paragraph, "Truth handles the most malignant contagion with perfect assurance."

There is the answer: "Truth handles" the case "with perfect assurance." Even though we may think that our understanding is not sufficient to bring about the healing, a wholehearted attempt is certainly worth the effort; and in naming mortal mind as the culprit and denouncing the error as no part of us, we are helping the situation tremendously. Declaring for Truth, and knowing that Truth handles all error perfectly, gives us needed assurance. Any moment may be the one when error slinks away and Truth stands forth in victory. Let us all try harder! There is always the right answer.
