With each testimony of healing...
With each testimony of healing I read, my heart goes out in gratitude to God for Christian Science. What a blessing it is to know God as the Giver of all good, to know that He does not send sin, sickness, and death to His children, but He heals mankind.
I have had many healings. My first one, in 1908, was of a serious physical condition which had resulted from a deep sense of loss. Physicians could not help me. Through Christian Science I was instantaneously healed.
During World War I, there was a great deal of sickness in my family. Our children, one after another, had influenza. Later I had it, and the case seemed very stubborn. We had Christian Science help, but the fear was great, since I was expecting a child. Overhearing this fear expressed, I began to repeat to myself (Gen. 1:3), "Let there be light." When my husband arrived home, after he had received a wire to come immediately, he wanted to give me something to help relieve the cough. To this I said No, and I did not cough again. This was near midnight. In the morning our little son was born, well and strong. I was able to raise myself in bed that day, after having had to be lifted for several days.
