That I May See
I do
not long for blue of sky,
With summer all around,
I do not yearn for buttercups
When they carpet all the ground.
Why need I ask for birds to sing,
I who have ears to hear?
When all the branches burst with song,
My plea would interfere.
Then why, my Father-Mother Love,
Shall I beg You for bread,
For life, for truth, for harmony?
Forever I am fed.
Your ever-presence stays with me
Wherever I may go.
Your heaven cannot disappear;
Your blessings overflow.
Then let my constant prayer be knowing
And doing only good,
That I may see reality
As Truth is understood.
