For many years, the teachings of Christian Science have been my mainstay, healing discordant conditions, correcting false beliefs, affording comfort, and demonstrating supply.

Shortly after arriving in the United States from Australia. I attended my first Christian Science service on a Thanksgiving morning. Although I understood very little of Science, the friends who took me assisted me by their firm declarations of truth in obtaining a needed position, and thus were sown in my consciousness the first seeds of this precious religion.

My first physical healing occurred during a mild influenza epidemic. The apartment house owner where I roomed was a student of Christian Science, and when a countrywoman of mine, concerned for my welfare, wanted me moved to a hospital, the student asked for just twenty-four hours in which to prove the more efficacious means of healing through Christian Science. As well as reading to me from the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, this friend called a practitioner, and with only two absent treatments the healing was complete in a few days. Very often since then, my thought has gone out in deep gratitude to this faithful and loving student and the practitioner who helped me.
