With the deepest sense of joy I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science, and for the revelation of Truth and harmony it has brought into my consciousness. I am grateful to God for having led me to this wonderful and practical religion at a time when I most needed it. For two years I searched mentally for a reason for being, for a firm foundation upon which to base life.

When I was convinced that good was evasive, and that confusion and calamity were inevitable, a friend took me to a Christian Science lecture. Throughout the lecture the speaker repeatedly used the Scriptural statement (Gen. 1:31), "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." I left that lecture so grateful for the door that had been opened to me that mental confusion and instability were gone, and I determined to learn all I could of Christian Science.

My first reading of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our inspired Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, answered all the questions that had tormented me. I knew that I had found the "pearl of great price" spoken of by Jesus (Matt. 13:46).
