My first testimony appeared in The Christian Science Journal for February, 1913, I should like to say the healings related therein have been permanent. Many more have been experienced since then, some with the help of a practitioner and others through my study of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy in conjunction with the Bible. All of Mrs. Eddy's works and the periodicals have been wonderful guides.

In the first years much fear had to be overcome. Whenever a member of the family came into the house I feared the evil news he might tell. Searching the Bible, I found the statement in Psalms (112:6,7): "The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings." And from the time The Christian Science Monitor was first published and read, all fear left me. There has always been healing in all the Christian Science periodicals, and I am grateful for the alertness and loyalty of our editors.

My first healing was of severe headache, and a few years afterward the return of the condition uncovered the need for overcoming the tea and coffee habits. There was a struggle, but study of Science and Health brought release and I have had no desire for tea or coffee for over thirty years.
