In Revelation (3:20) it is written, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him and he with me." As students of Christian Science we have great cause for daily gratitude to God for Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, who has given us the means whereby we are able to "open the door" and let Truth into our consciousness, thereby dispelling error of every sort.

Many times I have been grateful to Christian Science for both physical and mental healings. When I was five years old, I fell down a flight of stairs and landed on my shoulder. Because of the severe pain, I was taken to a doctor. He said that the shoulder had been badly dislocated and that I should never have much use of it. I was under the doctor's care for more than a year, during which my arm did not grow and was almost useless.

It was about this time that I began to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, and one Sunday I asked my mother to take me to a Christian Science practitioner, which she did. The practitioner patiently and lovingly showed me how to "open the door," and she started to build the foundation for the healing. She told me that I was, in reality, a child of God, pointing out that "in him we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28).
