Serenity

If I were asked to name the greatest gift which Christian Science bestows on its many adherents, I should unhesitatingly say, "The mental serenity which comes through the understanding that God is All, and which Paul described as 'the peace of God, which passeth all understanding.'"

Looking back over the joy-filled years that have followed his acceptance of this beautiful and practical religion as his way of life, the earnest student daily gives thanks to his creator for the unfettered confidence with which he is able to greet each new day. He finds that as he consistently studies the Bible, together with the works of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and applies the truths that he learns, his every thought and deed is directly under divine guidance. No longer are his happiness and success dependent on human personality, and to him the problems which arise in the course of his daily routine are not occasions for annoyance or worry, but merely opportunities to prove the dominion which is his by virtue of man's oneness with God.

Refusing to admit any negative thought that would suggest a power apart from God, he is enabled to prove the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." Whether his need is spiritual, financial, or physical, he knows that Love is ever before him, making clear the way in Science.
