The deep joy and gratitude...

The deep joy and gratitude which are mine as a result of applying the teachings of Christian Science make continued silence an impossibility.

Christian Science has been my only religion and God my only physician since my parents enrolled me in a Christian Science Sunday School at the age of six. The truth taught there has served as an impenetrable armor throughout grammar and high school days and right on into the business world. Since entering business, I have never found it necessary to be away from my post because of any physical disability.

About five years ago, I was fully awakened to the joy and success which come when one turns humbly and unreservedly to God for guidance. At that time I was discontented with the type of work I was doing. It appeared impossible to find anything in the field for which I had been trained. Discontentment increased until it seemed unbearable, and as a result I left my job. This expression of self-will resulted in a period of unemployment. I was looking for the particular type of work I wanted to do and would not accept anything else. At this time I turned more and more to Christian Science. I studied the weekly Lesson-Sermons faithfully, read the periodicals, and visited the Reading Rooms frequently.
