I have had the blessing of a knowledge of Christian Science since very early in my life and I am most grateful for it. Through it I have been guided to choose Christian Science companionship and establish a happy home. On occasions when homesickness or grief would have been called natural, right thinking prevented me from experiencing these feelings. Christian Science has been the foundation of harmonious relationships and satisfactory accomplishments in different types of employment.
At one time I had calluses, or something similar, on the soles of both feet. This condition increased in severity over a period of six months. The pain caused me much fear and hindered my activity. Then one day I said to myself, "This condition is not God-made, and therefore not real; I will stop limping and acting as though it were real." With that declaration I placed both feet firmly on the floor and began to think of the truths in "the scientific statement of being," as found on page 468 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Three days later, while dressing, I remembered the constant pain I had suffered and realized with joy that it had disappeared.
During this time I was on a journey, and several weeks later, on returning to my home church, I wished very much to tell of this joyful experience but hesitated because, although there was no vestige of pain, the hard lumps were still present on the soles of my feet. After prayerfully considering the question, I decided that I could in all honesty publicly express my gratitude for the healing of the pain, and this I did. Within a week or so I realized that my feet were perfectly clear of the calluses. Shortly after this I bought a pair of shoes. The clerk who attended me seemed to be a specialist in foot care. He exclaimed that my feet were as soft and perfect as a child's and said that it was very unusual to find an adult's feet which were in such good condition.
