One must certainly have walked...
One must certainly have walked and talked with God to have written a book the reading of which has healed hundreds of hopeless invalids. My gratitude goes out to Mary Baker Eddy, who, despite ridicule, scorn, and contempt, revealed to the world the true nature of God. Early in my study I realized I had found the truth of being.
Everything I have in life that is worth while I owe to the study of Christian Science. Twenty-three years ago, when all material remedies had failed. I was healed of pulmonary tuberculosis simply by reading our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I had no other help. The logic was so sound. "Reason and revelation were reconciled, and afterwards the truth of Christian Science was demonstrated" (ibid., p. 110). The body was transformed by the renewing of the mind, as Paul, in his letter to the Romans, besought them to do.
It would be impossible to relate in one testimony the rich reward which has come to me through the study of Science. While traveling on the Gulf Coast, I was stricken with dengue fever. After I became delirious a practitioner was called. I was healed in one treatment, and fell asleep. On arising the next morning I went about my usual activities and made a trip to town. This was my first Christian Science treatment, and the mental illumination was indescribable.
