Man Changeless

In the light of Christian Science, man, the image and likeness of his Father-Mother God is seen as changeless, perfect, harmonious, happy, loving, and eternal. Like Christ he is "the same yesterday, and to day and for ever" (Hebr. 13:8). Man as God's child, has existed forever in God's unchanging eternity, where there is no time, no age, no sin no bitterness, no ill will, no selfishness, no injury or inharmony, no death.

Christ Jesus recognized man's eternality and oneness with God when he prayed (John 17:21. 23). "That they all may be one: as thou, Father, art in me and I in thee, that they also may be one in us:... I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one." Man the reflection of God forever expresses all the qualities of God such as courage, calmness, patience, intelligence love, happiness, contentment and freedom.

We hear much about the conditions and needs of our servicemen and women returning from overseas. In some instances mortal mind says that they are not the same as when they went away; that they may be more sensitive and perhaps bitter; that they need adjustment; in other words, that they have changed and must be rehabilitated. But mortal mind never tells the truth, for it is as Jesus said of the devil (John 8:44), a liar. This supposititious mind is error, evil. Mary Baker Eddy writes in the Christian Science textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 71): "Evil has no reality. It is neither person, place, nor thing, but is simply a belief, an illusion of material sense." Mortal mind, so called, has no place, power, or reality. The complexity and maladjustment of mortal mind are destroyed by the order and harmony of the divine Mind.
