It is quite reasonable to suppose...
It is quite reasonable to suppose that anyone who has been healed in Christian Science has a desire to express gratitude for it. I have had many healings. In fact, hardly a day passes but I have a healing of one kind or another, for I have learned that in Christian Science one can apply his understanding to every detail of daily experience, for it is a "pillar of the cloud by day" and "of fire by night" (Exodus 13:22). When we apply our understanding of Christian Science to small details there are fewer large problems, because we are not allowing error to accumulate, as it were.
At one time when I had been allowing mortal mind to do most of the talking, I found myself coming down with influenza. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and in one minute I was healed. Of course my thinking, too, was instantly lifted from the miasma of mortal sense testimony.
With the help of a practitioner I have also been healed of the smoking habit of forty years' standing. Through the study of our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I have been healed of chronic stomach and bowel trouble, as well as of the tea and coffee habit, the social drinking habit, coughs and colds, rheumatism, lumbago, cuts and bruises, lack, limitation, and many undesirable traits of character. Jesus said (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." I have been healed by learning the truth, and I am convinced that it is all we ever need to achieve health and harmony.
