On page 371 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, tells us, "As frightened children look everywhere for the imaginary ghost, so sick humanity sees danger in every direction, and looks for relief in all ways except the right one." These words describe my plight when I was led to attend a Christian Science lecture.

I was seeking a way of deliverance from many medical laws, which had been placed on our two and a half year old son, because of an accident at birth. He also had a chest condition, resulting from pneumonia, which the doctors had been watching for five months.

Though I understood little of the lecture, I left the auditorium greatly inspired. The truths which I had heard there had raised my thought, and the next evening the boy pulled himself up and, holding to the edge of the dining room table, walked all the way around it. These were his first steps. Two days later he had his regular weekly examination by the doctor, who pronounced his chest healed. The doctor said, "I had planned to tell you today that the child must go to the hospital for an operation, but I find it is not necessary."
