God is so good that I wish to thank Him for the many blessings which have come to me from His tender, loving care. My gratitude for the privilege of church membership is boundless. Definite progress in my understanding of Christian Science was noticeable when I began to serve actively in a branch church as a Sunday school teacher and on various committees. As I began to dedicate my life to the establishment of Truth and Love in my consciousness and to the reflecting of divine Life in my daily life. I began to have proofs of the utility of Church.

I had enjoyed the privilege of Sunday school instruction, but before joining The Mother Church and a branch church I wanted to prove to my own satisfaction that Christian Science is really the Comforter, which has come to lift mankind from the bondage of materiality into the consciousness of life as spiritual. I am now sure that Christian Science is the truth about God, man, and the universe.

Among the physical healings which I have had are those of burns, warts, ulcerated tooth, sore throat, whooping cough, mumps, a severe swelling behind one of my ears, blood poisoning, and influenza. One of the first healings resulting from the application of my own understanding of Truth occurred in a high school chemistry laboratory. I carelessly allowed nitric acid to boil out of a test tube onto my hand, but the instant realization of the truth contained in "the scientific statement of being" as given on page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, brought about an instantaneous healing. I have experienced painless childbirth and painless dentistry. My hand, when pierced by a red-hot skewer, was instantly healed when I telephoned to a practitioner for treatment.
