It is a privilege to express my...
It is a privilege to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science and the many ways it has helped me. I was early taught its truths by my mother in the home, and learned a great deal in an informal group holding Christian Science services as outlined by Mrs. Eddy in the Church Manual, since there was no authorized branch of The Mother Church, in our vicinity. I have always been grateful for this early training, for when I was married and went away to establish a home of my own I could turn to Christian Science for all our needs. Not only were we able to keep ourselves well and our home harmonious and happy, but we greatly prospered in business.
Christian Science sustained us through a great sorrow which resulted in a wonderful spiritual awakening in our home. When our little son was three years of age it became necessary for him to learn self-control and obedience. With the help of a practitioner and a more diligent study of the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy not only did we find liberation for the child, but to us it was like a spiritual resurrection. Since this healing our basic purpose has been to grow more spiritually-minded and to be better Christian Scientists. This has increased our sense of comfort and satisfaction and enlarged our outlook upon life. It has also showed us the enriching power of unselfed love in doing for others. Our son has passed through several so-called children's diseases with very little discomfort, and he now is an attendant at a Christian Science Sunday School.
In our home we find it pays daily dividends to read together the first thing each morning the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly.
