An increasing appreciation of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and the Christian Science movement prompts me to express gratitude for many blessings received through the study of this Science. It has brought within the scope of my experience much cleansing, purifying, and regeneration, and an understanding of God, man, and the universe, as well as health, enjoyment, joy, and a host of friends.

More than twenty-five years ago, the healing efficacy of Christian Science was convincingly brought to my attention by the healing of my mother of gallstone colic after all hope for her recovery had been abandoned by two eminent physicians. These doctors felt that an operation was her last hope, but before arranging for it she decided to have a talk with a Christian Science practitioner. The practitioner pointed out to her the allness of God and the nothingness of matter, and the condition vanished. The healing has been permanent.

Three months later I was stricken with a severe cold, which was chronic and was always followed by sore throat and quinsy. After some days the same practitioner was called. Following her recommendation, I read "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. As I read, peace entered my consciousness. I fell asleep, and awoke free and healed.
