A Seven-Word Solution

[Of Special Interest to Youth]

Homesickness and the fear of it are not baby-talk. The heartache therefrom can seem to be excruciating—the fear of its return even worse. Although the war is bringing such aches and fears to many a teen-age boy today, Christian Science presents in seven words a solution for this trying experience.

Last summer, while I was away at college and expecting to be called into the service, this fear of homesickness was a continual nightmare, even though I wanted to be called and had enlisted as a pilot. I fought these fears, I read our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I worked earnestly in Christian Science, but I got only temporary relief. With a bang I would be down in the valley again.

One evening when this heaviness and fear of the future seemed almost overwhelming. I once more opened Science and Health. My attention was arrested by the familiar question on page 468, "What is the scientific statement of being?"
