Christian Science Committee on Publication for Queensland, Australia, Reports

Since this Committee took office, only one letter of correction has been necessary, and that was to a paper printed in Brisbane and Rockhampton by another denomination. The same letter was sent to both cities with an offer to supply a list of authorized books on Christian Science. In reply the Brisbane office expressed regret that their magazine did not deal fairly with the authorized books on Christian Science. At the request of the Rockhampton office a list of authorized books was supplied by the Committee.

Without a doubt The Christian Science Monitor is doing a wonderful work in leavening the prejudice of the public and the press against Christian Science. Its news value is authority for faithful journalism of a reliable and high standard. This is evidenced by the number of extracts that are reprinted from the Monitor. Twelve newspapers take advantage of the subscription-in-exchange-for-advertising plan. Eight papers are supplied with excerpts from the Lesson-Sermons. An average of four is published regularly in full.

A radio announcer was referring to our paper as the "Monitor." We pointed out to the station that though hundreds of papers may be named "Monitor," only one paper is named The Christian Science Monitor. It was a happy contact, and the station said the full title would be used in future.
