My first healing came through...

My first healing came through the reading of the Bible when I was a small child. I had not walked for a year, and was taken for treatment to a hospital where there were many crippled children. I was so filled with sympathy for them that I could not go to sleep. Finally my mother read some of Jesus' healings to me from the Bible. I slept peacefully that night. Afterwards I dwelt so expectantly in the thought that Jesus would heal us all that it was not long until I was able to run and play and go to school.

I attended one Sunday school after another, seeking to learn more of the healing Christ. It was not until I found Christian Science, in my last year at high school, that my quest was ended. My gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for reinstating a religion of healing was unbounded. I knew I had found the truth, and my faith in Christian Science has never wavered from that day to this.

The study of the Lesson-Sermon has met my needs many times. Three examples I should like to relate. I had had treatment for an abnormal growth in one of my breasts. It had disappeared and returned. In one of the Lessons were these statements from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 392): "Exclude from mortal mind the offending errors; then the body cannot suffer from them;" and (p. 40), "Remove error from thought, and it will not appear in effect." I awakened to see that I must rid my thought of the picture and fear of disease, and fill my consciousness with Truth. Sometime during the week the condition disappeared and has never returned.
