Light of Dominion
[Of Special Interest to Youth]
A young woman was uncertain as to what steps to take when a change of environment seemed necessary. Two interesting opportunities had arisen, each of which offered development in a different and unusual way. She was torn between the two, questioning long and often as to which one would be the more advantageous. Friends offered advice, some suggesting one step, others counseling the opposite one.
Then the questioner, who was a Christian Scientist, realized that all the arguments were built up on the material benefits to be reaped by the taking of these different steps. She realized that she must look away from the temptations of gain in matter, and accept the higher decision, which could come from Mind alone. So she turned wholeheartedly to God to find out what His plan and purpose held for her.
Praying long and earnestly for light, she came to the conclusion that her decision must be based on the one desire to be in that place where she could grow most in a spiritual way. Even those dearest to her could not govern that decision. Personal desire for a certain physical locality could not affect the outcome, but Principle alone could and would reveal it clearly. She further realized that her part was to keep human will in subordination to divine Principle, and then let the decision unfold to her from that source.
